South Central Bloodhound Club, Inc.
The South Central Bloodhound Club (SCBC), Inc. is a 501(c)(3) founded in 1996 with the primary goal of protecting and enhancing the Bloodhound breed. As a regional chapter of the American Bloodhound Club (ABC), SCBC works diligently to provide services within a seven-state area: Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
In order to achieve our goals, the SCBC provides programs focused on the following:
-
Provides a system for breed education
-
Encourages ethical and responsible breeding, but also educates the public on the dangers of unethical and irresponsible breeding
-
Encourages and offers a venue for the showing of Bloodhounds to maintain the breed standard and allow for improvements
-
Encourages the use of Bloodhounds in mantrailing and as working dogs
-
Operates a fully-functional Bloodhound rescue and adoption program
In order to support current members, new members, and those interested in joining South Central Bloodhound Club, we also host several events a year that relate to our goals. Event dates and times vary, and will be posted on the event calendar on this website. We look forward to seeing you!
